Te Kapa Haka o Tukua o Punga took the stage again at this year’s Taitokerau Secondary Schools Festival held at Kerikeri High School this Wednesday. The students have worked tirelessly in preparation for the festival and were ready to go. For some of our students, this was their last performance with our kapa haka and for others it was their first, so this year as per other years was exciting. Te Kapa Haka o Tukua o Punga would like to acknowledge the hard work of all students, their whānau and kaimahi for all their support in this campaign. We would also like to thank the staff, principal and also Komiti Māori for their full support of this Kaupapa. Looking ahead to the next kapa haka campaign, we will be starting training for this year’s regional primary schools kapa haka competitions in Term 2 and this will be our first time in primary schools competitions so we are going to be extremely busy but excited. Lastly, we acknowledge the tutors and also Whaea Taua for making this dream a huge reality.
