BUSH CRAFT COURSE WITH THE SERVICES ACADEMY

The Services Academy Students (SAS) conducted Bush Craft this Term on the 28th Jun to 2nd Jul (Week 9). This was one of the coldest weeks of the year, but that didn’t deter the spirits of SAS as they tramped, navigated through tough terrain and set up camp in different locations each night.  This included building their shelters and sleeping in them one night. Towards the end of the week there was an orienteering challenge covering 8 kms of steep terrain between the other 4 academies and Tikipunga SAS took the “W” beating their closest rival by more than 20mins. It was a great week where the students learnt survival and leadership skills in the bush. Well done, Blake, Sam, Jordan, De Ante, Taneisha, Harmony and Calais.
