Kua tawhiti ke to haerenga mai kia kore e haere tonu he nui rawa o mahi kia kore e mahi tonu
As a person that is Maori, keeping my language, culture alive and thriving is something I will strive to do for the rest of my life. I had the opportunity to attend the Koroneihana trip of 2022 as my first time following in my siblings footsteps. Filling my kete with knowledge, viewing some of the best kapa haka of Matatini and having the most breathtaking experiences. Although the trip was short the memories will forever be present. I encourage the future generations to love and learn about our culture. We as te kapa haka o Tukua o Punga have always said we have come too far not to go further… Na Shenaea
I was given the opportunity to go to the Koroneihana with our school. It was an awesome experience because I had never been to Koroneihana and I never knew that the Maori King was fair, which was pretty trippy. The Kapa Haka performances did really well and it was cool to see Matua Ropata perform with Nga Tumanako. I really enjoyed my time away because I was able to do things I never thought I’d do. These trip memories will forever be cherished. Na Manaia
Koroneihana was really something different for me, it’s the first ever actual Maori trip I´ve ever gone on. It was mean to see Kingi Tuheitia Paki and all the feeds we had, were mean as well. The kapa performances weŕe probably some of the best performances I’ve ever seen. I hope the next generation of Maori students have the opportunity to go on the Koroneihana trip. Na Kupa
I enjoyed the Koroneihana trip because I had the opportunity to experience seeing the Maori King and watching the most entertaining Kapa Haka of Matatini with the ‘best’ view, the ‘best’ seats being right in front. – Na Nevaeh
