Tauira – Official Opening

The curtain closes on what has been a very busy term.  I am hugely proud of what our students, kura and community have achieved during what can only be described as interesting times.

Without doubt the opening of our Tauira is the highlight of the year to date;  a celebration of our cultural identity.  We have the duty, honour and privilege to be kaitiaki of our language, culture and world view.  This whare is a commitment to this kaupapa.

I need to thank and acknowledge the Kahui Taumata, our whanau from Pehiaweri and Ngararatunua, and the kaumatua and kuia who guided us on our journey.

A huge mihi to Komiti Maori for the endless awhi during this haerenga.  To our Board of trustees (present and past), our dignitaries,  staff, students and whanau who made this morning so special, Thank you.

Have a wonderful and well deserved holiday.

Nō reira tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou, tēnā tatou katoa
